Like many people who “do software” for a living, I’m a pretty serious amateur photographer. I started studying photography and seriously shooting when I was around ten years old. I went through a vintage camera phase (Exakta, Zeiss-Ikonta) and I’ve finally (as of 2006) made the leap to a Canon digital SLR.
I think that I’m drawn to the technical nature of the art, how it’s all about balance and trade-offs. Trade-offs between sensitivity and graininess, light and motion blur, flash and ambient.

Video
The natural counterpart to linking to your flickr photos is linking to your youtube videos. Mostly it’s family stuff. Birthday parties, bowling parties, trips to California, etc. If you don’t like that kind of stuff, don’t follow the link.
Most of the videos are shot with a Sony MiniDV cam and edited in iMovie.
